Algae on the bottom of your pool floor is a common problem, particularly in the Wet Season and if the chlorine levels are not maintained.
It is simple to treat, follow the steps below:
- Turn the filter off until the water stops moving
- Then broadcast dry chlorine over the effected area
- Next day, brush and gently vacumn to waste any residue left around the effected area and retreat anything missed in the first treatment
- Test your pool to ensure that the chlorine level is between 3 and 5
- Follow up this treament with a water test and a treatment of a quality algaecide
For the long term management of this problem,
- maintain a constant chlorine level of between 3 and 5
- using a quality algaecide like Pool Drops or Black & Green Algaecide
