Swimming Pool Water Levels

Posted on 29th Mar 2011 @ 2:33 PM

During this time of year with all our rain, the water level in your swimming pool can get quite high... often.  It is a common worry that people believe they are loosing their chemical balance when pumping out the excess water.  If handled immediately after the rain, this is often not the case.

If it has recently rained, the fresh water sits on top until the filter starts.  Pump off the excess water prior to the filter turning on.  This will help reduce the dilution of chemicals.

New pools are often installed with an overflow pipe, thus allowing the fresh rain water to run out immediately and the pool water level and chemical balance to remain consistent.
